In January 2005, Loretto established LIGHTS - Loretto's Innovative Geriatric & Healthcare Training Services - which provides organizations with the professional education and training required to improve the quality of care delivered to Long Term Care patients.

LIGHTS offers workshops, which can be tailored to meet an organizations specific needs, on such topics as Abuse Prevention, Infection Control, Quality of Life, and Leadership and Supervision. LIGHTS also provides Certified Home Health Aide and Certified Nursing Assistant training.

LIGHTS education and training is provided by a team of six licensed nurses with Bachelor's or Master's degrees in either Nursing or Education or both. LIGHTS educators are experienced in teaching a diverse student population and posses years of both acute and extended care experience.
