Rehabilitation Services

Loretto is Central New York's largest provider of rehabilitation services. In its four skilled nursing facilities, Loretto offers a full range of rehabilitation services including Post-Surgical Recovery, Orthopedic Rehabilitation, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Pain Management and Speech Therapy.

Using best practices, innovative practice areas and the newest technology, Loretto's caring professional staff strive to increase patient comfort and vitality while recovering from surgery, illness or injury.

Following the course of care, each patient is evaluated to determine their ability to continue living alone or with loved ones. Most rehabilitation patients return to their own homes or a Supported Living site following recovery. Rehabilitation services are generally covered for older adults eligible for Medicare reimbursement. Loretto also accepts patients with private insurance or the ability to pay out-of-pocket.

Fahey Rehabilitation Center

The Fahey Rehabilitation Center is Central New York's largest rehab center with more than 90 beds, located on three floors in the Cunningham/Fahey facility, dedicated specifically for rehabilitation patients. In addition to state-of-the-art treatment, Fahey Rehab offers private rooms, air conditioning, bedside phone service, a safe and secure campus setting, transportation assistance and a rate of patient improvement 30 percent ahead of the national average.

Recent renovation and expansion of Fahey Rehab has added several new therapy features an oval walking track, a Transit machine to simulate getting in and out of vehicles, and an indoor/outdoor practice area which gives patients the opportunity to practice walking on concrete, grass and crushed stone surfaces. To meet emerging community needs, Fahey Rehab now admits patients needing specialized services not always found in a nursing home setting. Those services include intravenous (IV) care, respiratory care, and diabetic care for those who receive dialysis treatments at another community facility.

Rehabilitation at The Nottingham

As a continuing care community, The Nottingham offers rehabilitation to residents who live in its two residential programs as well as its 40-bed nursing home. In addition to amenities available at The Nottingham, rehab patients have use of an indoor swimming pool for water therapy, exercise and recreation.

Loretto Utica Center

Located on Kemble Street in downtown Utica, Loretto Utica Center's rehab program is also connected to its 120-bed nursing home and offers the same range of services found at Loretto Oswego. With its downtown location, friends and family find visiting Loretto Utica to be quite convenient.
